Welcome to the Medscribbler FAQs page. Here there is a list of "frequently asked questions" pertaining to the Medscribbler EMR features, benefits and procedures. An often unasked question should be the starting point of installing Medscribbler:

» Why aren't phone numbers appearing in the patient information after importing a file?

The phone numbers must be in the format (XXX)XXX-XXXX Curved brackets (parenthesis) must be around the area code, no space, the exchange, dash, four numbers. For business numbers the format for the txt file must be (XXX)XXX-XXXX ext XXXXX with a space on each side of the ext, any number of digits up to five is acceptable.

» Will Medscribbler interact with my billing program?

Yes, charge capture information can be cut and pasted into any billing system that will accept input from the Windows clipboard.

» Can I import patient information from another program?

Yes, Medscribbler includes a module to import demographic information from a text file generated by other electronic patient records software. It doesn't matter what kind of text file it is Medscribbler can be configured to put the information into the correct place. Most practice management only programs or schedulers have the ability to generate a text file. Clinical patient records may also be imported into Medscribbler as PDFs, .rtf or jpg images using the document management function of Medscribbler. The legacy system must be able to generate these types of files. The initial set-up may require a local Microsoft Certified Professional.
