Frequently Asked Questions - EMR FAQs
Hardware, Software and Procedure Topics
Welcome to the Medscribbler FAQs page. Here there is a list of "frequently asked questions" pertaining to the Medscribbler EMR features, benefits and procedures. You will also discover FAQs concerning current Tablet PC technology. Be sure to visit our "Learn about Tablets" link at the bottom of the page for Tablet PC introductory information. An often unasked question should be the starting point of installing Medscribbler:
- » Can I upgrade Medscribbler Open Source?
-
Medscribbler Open Source can be upgraded either to another version of Medscribbler or by purchase of Microsoft SQL Server 2003 or better.
- » How does Medscribbler user licensing work?
-
There are three users groups; clinical, clerical and administrator. Each group is licensed separately. Medscribbler operates by "concurrent" user in a group. This means Medscribbler does not care how many users there are but only how many users are using the system at any given time.
For example, if the same clinical user logs on simutaneously on 3 different computers Medscribbler counts that as 3 clinical users. If there are 10 clinical users registered but only 3 logged on at any one time only 3 licenses are required.
Users can have the Medscribbler client installed on an unlimited number of computers.
