Conserving a patient name and address list from an old legacy practice management system is one of the highest anxiety points for staff when told of the migration to one of Medscribbler`s products. Don`t worry, be happy!
Medscribbler`s Patient List Importer (PLI) uses a generally computer industry recognized semi-colon .txt delimited file format to import information in to Medscribbler. This file format has been recognized since the early 1980`s as a way of intelligently transferring information between computer programs. Almost all applications can generate this type of file, if it can`t a local computer specialist can usually make the file.
Once the legacy program generates the file the PLI will sort the file so the information is imported into Medscribbler correctly. So don`t worry and save time by avoiding re-typing patient demographic information.
Import Module
Getting patient names and other demographic into Medscribbler is accomplished quickly with Medscribbler`s Import and Export facility. The module allows any data that has been generated by another database and is available in a text delimited file to be matched to the database in Medscribbler.
Export Module
Changing to a new third party billing or other program is just as easy by exporting the patient demographic information already in Medscribbler. Medscribbler can even be set to give the order for the receiving program if it is limited in its ability to re-order the text file.
Scans
Because there is no way to reconcile the myriad of different formats used by other programs, files can be imported into Medscribbler as .rtf, pdf or .jpg Most scanners handle at least two of these formats so paper can also be imported.
Device Importer Module
For day to day importing of files from ECG/EKG machines, digital cameras etc Medscribbler can be set up to search for new files being added from various devices and automatically place them in the EMR system for categorizing by patient and type. |
