Billing procedures are unique to every practice. Staff adaptation to a new method often results in resistance to change. Medscribbler allows almost the same paper practice that is used before Medscribbler as after Medscribbler installation. The implementation of a EMR to make a physician more productive should not hinge on loyalty to staff or reluctance of staff to move forward. Medscribbler simply allows automation of the physician while permitting continuation of similar paper methods of transferring the information from physician to billing staff. The unique interface can allow motivated staff improve productivity.

E&M coding

Medscribbler includes ICD-9 codes and a facility to add common procedure codes for look up and notation during the billing process. At the same time diagnosis and other information is entered into the patient record. Handwriting can be employed to quicken the process.

Superbill

Information entered by the physician for the medical examination generates a superbill that can be printed by the billing secretary. The superbill is presented in an unique desktop interface that also allows cutting and pasting of the superbill information into any billing program. The interface can also be shaded so information and programs under it on the desktop can be seen, allowing straight typing into a billing program.

EZclaim

Ezclaim is a third party billing program with an included direct interface into and out of Medscribbler. Ezclaim handles receivables, prints HCFA-1500 (CMS-1500) claims, prints patient statements etc
