Scriptnetics employees win competition honors

Scriptnetics is pleased to announce that two of its student employees, Justin Vaillancourt and Guillaume Pelletier, recently successfully competed in several computer use and programming competitions for high school students. Mr Vaillancourt won gold in two separate New Brunswick, Canada competitions and a bronze at a national Canadian competition. Mr Pelletier won a silver at a New Brunswick competition.

At the New Brunswick chapter of the Worldskills competition held on April 27th Mr Vaillancourt won gold in the Microsoft Office 2003 category involving: document processing, databases, spreadsheets, Powerpoint presentations and graphics. Mr. Pelletier won silver in the competition to produce an animation with Flash and design a dynamic website that addressed accessibility issues.

At the Canadian Worldskills championships held in Calgary May 25th Mr Vaillancourt, as the youngest competitor in his category, received a bronze.

Also, in his specialty, application programming, Mr Vaillancourt excelled with a first place in the Annual High School Programming Competition sponsored by Département d’informatique of l’Université de Moncton in conjunction with Department of Mathmatics and Computing Science of Saint Mary’s University.

The successes of these two young high school students points to Scriptnetics’ on going commitment to remain on the ?cutting edge? of application development by encouraging and training the next generation of programmers.
