The Medscribbler Cloud© Stands for Rich Application Service Provider, offering much more functionality and affordability than most ASP-type electronic health record (EHR or EMR) systems. ASP based systems are often called web or browser systems. Medscribbler Cloud© takes the convenience of an ASP based EMR and adds the data security and richness of a client server EMR. With the Medscribbler Cloud©, you own all your software on your own server system allowing you to run Medscribbler and any other network compatible third-party applications you chose from any computer with an Internet connection. The management of your Medscribbler computers are all covered under RASP©.

What are the pricing and services?

Medscribbler Cloud© is priced "all-inclusive" Unlike other EMRs that are ASP based or client server, there are NO additional modules or additional services required to pay for to make the EMR functional. There are NO "it costs extra for that feature" bait and switch sales techniques. The only extra price exception is the same as for any Medscribbler version, personalized lab or billing interfaces. Pricing depends only on the number of concurrent users.

Concurrent user is measured by the number of users logged on at the same time. For example, if a total of ten people will use Cloud©, but no more than five at any given time, you only need to establish five licenses.

Installation fees and training, including additional training for any new staff are all covered under the monthly fee. Also included is your own three page web-site with office information including any pre-visit forms for patient downloading and your own domain, ie www.mytowndr.com (subject to domain availability)

Monthly fees are $535 per month, all inclusive, for the first four users (two medical and two clerical staff,) and $189 for each additional user. In the example of 10 users and 5 concurrent users the cost is only $720 per month. There are no "surprise" additional bandwidth or database storage charges, our experience eliminates the unknown others may have with limited ASP models. Monthly fees can be invoiced or by major credit card.

Additional software can be purchased from your vendor of choice and installed on your server. Items like fax services can also be configured as part of the monthly fee therefore eliminating most costly, extended in-house IT expenses. For additional software or services, either Medscribbler Technical Support or your own IT person can manage the server. Additional resources may be needed, and for any non-Medscribbler related work, time will be billed at $90/hour, one hour minimum.

Is it secure?

Your server is maintained in a completely secure, autonomous environment. No one can access your server or see your charts without a legitimate user name and password. With the Medscribbler Cloud©, all the applications are actually running isolated from the general population of the Internet. Information on your server is simply transmitted to your office computers as a continuous series of unreadable data streams (...)

(...) that are in their own secure "tunnel" through the Internet. Since this eliminates the need to actually transfer your database information across the Internet, it eliminates the likelihood of contracting a computer virus, spyware, pop-ups, or of being hacked, and helps make this one of the safest, most secure options available today.

What if my internet fails?

Medscribbler Cloud© uses network connectivity by Carpathia that is among the finest in the world. Its state-of-the-art Carpathia Intelligent Routing Network (CIRN) is built exclusively atop N+1 redundant, hot failover Juniper hardware. Unlike most hosting providers that rely on simple BGP, our use of CIRN does much more than simply counting the number of hops to each end user. CIRN analyzes each one of the transit and peers for latency, jitter, and packet loss then automatically selects the highest performing provider to ensure our customers get the fastest speeds available. Additionally, Medscribbler Cloud©'s stability helps to immediately pinpoint any possible network loss of connectivity for immediate action and thus almost completely eliminating the anxiety of the loss of patient data availability.

How can I retire from my practice?

If you are ready to break out the champagne and retire you do not need to be saddled with the ongoing costs of your server. We can provide a copy of Medscribbler and your patient database for a small charge. This "stand-alone" Medscribbler can be run on most computers for retrieval of patient records for transfer and to meet the patient record retention requirements of your state.
