EMR FAQ

Can I use Medscribbler at the hospital or at home?

Medscribbler is client server and is designed specifically to run in remote locations. This is accomphished through a virtual private network (VPN). From home or another office it would be with your existing internet connection. For roaming, likely including an in-hospital connection, it would be through a wireless broadband connection now available in most major cities.

Connecting to an EMR

Why do I intermittently lose my wireless connection?

Very likely it is electrical interferrence. Wireless phones may be using the same frequency as a wifi network. Change to a better phone. Keep the wireless access points and routers away from microwaves and fluorescent light fixtures. A higher gain antenna may help. Check to see if any wireless settings are turned down to a limited range. (see your users manual)

Emr software using wireless connection

Why does my wireless connection sometimes slow down?

If you have some devices that use 802.11b and you are using 802.11g when the other devices attach to the network the router or access point may slow to accomodate them.
